After stopping for more Historic Marker education - about the French trading posts and forts which were erected here in the 18^th century - we turned off the main road into old Frontenac. Quaintness reached a new height with the flood-plain forests, quiet and car-less lanes, and lovely, wood-sided homes of Old Frontenac. An annual tradition was continued with numerous photos taken of riders and bicycles along a Civil War era stone wall.
